Description
Aluminum bromide, anhydrous appears as a white to yellowish-red, lumpy solid with a pungent odor.
Aluminum bromide, solution appears as a light-yellow colored liquid. Very corrosive to skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Used to make other chemical substances.
Aluminium bromide is a chemical compound of aluminum and bromine. It is used as a catalyst for the Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction. Bromine is a halogen element with the symbol Br and atomic number 35. Diatomic bromine does not occur naturally, but bromine salts can be found in crustal rock.
